Fasting is compulsory for every single grown-up Muslim in the Holy month of Ramadan, giving they are healthy, of sound mind and physically capable. If a man can’t or does not keep fast, then he/she is obliged to make up for it. This demonstration of financial pay is called Fidya and Kafara, however, each identifies with various circumstances. Fitrana is compulsory charity paid by Muslims at the end of Ramadan.
Fitrana is also known as Zakat al Fitr it is a way for Muslims to give thanks because they were able to complete the Holy month of Ramadan.

When we should give Fitrana?
Fitrana becomes compulsory after the sunset of the last fast of Ramadan. Who needs to give Fitrana?
Individuals who are adults are normal, not needy and poor should pay Fitrana. In the event that a family has one provider and other dependents, he should pay for every last one of his dependents.
How much Fitrana to pay?
The required amount of Fitrana was described by our Beloved Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) as one Saa. Today era its amount equals to three and a half kilogram of wheat, grain, rice or any staple eatable thing for every individual.
Who deserves Fitrana?
Those Muslim brothers and sisters who cannot afford their livings and cannot celebrate the great and Holy event of Eid ul Fitr deserve Fitrana so they can celebrate their Eid with other Muslims as well. And the Muslims who are performing Umrah in Ramadan they also like to pay fitrana to needy people for sake of Allah Almighty Mercy and forgiveness.
Why we should pay Fitrana?
So that our Muslim brothers and sisters can enjoy the celebration of Eid ul Fitr. Because Islam gives us the lesson of harmony and if our poor brothers and sisters are in need then we should help them out in their time of need so they can contribute with us in the celebration of Eid ul Fitr.
